ABOUT THE ROLE

The Controller is a key member of the Finance team, responsible for managing all financial and accounting activities within the organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller ensures the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting while maintaining compliance with all regulatory and organizational policies. The role involves leadership in managing accounting operations, developing and managing internal controls, and providing critical financial insights to support strategic decision-making.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Management:

  • Manage the organization’s financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP (or relevant standards).
  • Monitor cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts to support business needs.
  • Manage bank reconciliations

Budgeting:

  • Develop and manage annual budgets in collaboration with department heads.

Compliance and Audit:

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations, laws, and internal policies.
  • Coordinate external audits and address auditor inquiries.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in accounting standards and implement as necessary.

Internal Controls and Risk Management:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks through ongoing analysis and strategic recommendations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA designation preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience in mid-size (150 - 350 headcount) companies.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency with Quickbooks Online.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Strong understanding of LLC tax structures and requirements.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Lead Generation in the legal industry
  • Familiarity with the PI Legal industry
  • Familiarity with Call Center Sales environments

Compensation and Benefits

The Controller is a full-time, exempt position working on-site in Oklahoma City. We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package that includes health/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, paid vacation and sick days, a gym membership, and childcare reimbursement. In addition to our tangible benefits, Quintessa provides our people the opportunity to learn and grow within a supportive team environment. The pay range for the role is $80,000 - $110,000 annually depending on qualifications.
